The Leadership Team
HAYDÉE QUIÑONES BERBERENA
Haydée is the President and CEO of Certified Risk Management Group, LLC. With the support of excellent professionals, each competent in their field, Haydée leads teams that have the responsibility of providing diverse consulting services in risk-management and governance, quality and sustainability, health and security, and resiliency disciplines.
Haydée has in-depth understanding of how organizational business processes operate, what risks and exposures can impact the business, and is proficient in identifying the necessary mitigation controls, measures, and responses necessary to manage associated risks and opportunities.
She has international and interdisciplinary subject matter expertise in business continuity, risk management, governance and resilience management systems, records management, quality management, emergency response programs, health and safety, and liability risk management. This requires being up to date in policies and regulations of wide-ranging industry segments in many countries and being able to adapt to different work environments and cultures.
Regarding organizational resiliency, Haydée’s expertise includes the development, implementation, and management of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Business Continuity and Emergency Response Programs. Moreover, Haydée has led and managed the implementation and activation of Emergency Response and Catastrophic (CAT) response during major events. This includes leading Task Force teams and all management actions related to these, such as: development and implementation process structure, operating procedures, response structure, customer service, facilities, response guidelines, forms, regulatory compliance, metrics and statistics criteria for continuous review and prompt change management for optimal efficiency.
Haydee’s experience also encompasses conducting research projects and analyzing emerging risks, presenting their results, and generating recommendations for organizational policies, governance, and resiliency.
Haydée has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. She has a professional engineering license and is a member of the College of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR), the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), the Commission for Risk Management, Emergencies and Disasters of the CIAPR, and certified instructor by the international certification body PECB in international management system standards.
Haydée was chosen by the Professional and Evaluation Certifying Body (PECB) to be part of their international review committee for the Certified Risk Manager course, whose goal is to ensure the best valuable education and certification against rigorous internationally recognized standards.
Haydée is certified as: ISO 31000 Lead Risk Manager, ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management Systems Master, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Lead Implementer, and ISO 55001 Asset Management Systems Lead Auditor, and PECB trainer for ISO 9001, ISO 22301, and ISO 31000.
CAUSES IMPORTANT TO HAYDÉE
There are several causes that are dear to Haydée: As a strong believer in protecting the planet and the environment, she is a volunteer on the Climate Change Council of Puerto Rico’s Working Group 3- Effects on Society and Economy. Specifically, in disaster management and climate change risk assessments on critical infrastructure.
Haydée’s beloved Puerto Rico has gone through continuous catastrophic disasters in the past years. She provides trainings in emergency planning and response to communities, as she is a strong beiliever that it is in the heart of a community where the initial response takes place. The more educated and prepared, the better off is the community in surviving and overcoming the challenges they face.
Haydée believes that each person has a responsibility for doing their part, within their means, to make the world better. Regarding her chosen profession, she is convinced that education and the thrive to continuous self-improvement is essential in supporting risk management and resiliency. Personally, she is convinced that art and music is fundamental for emotional well-being.
ELLIOTT SANTIAGO CONCEPCIÓN
Elliott a managing partner of Certified Risk Management Group LLC. He has extensive experience in the field of clinical and administrative psychology; including risk management associated with project, quality and healthcare management services in the area of emotional and mental health. Elliott has doctorate in clinical psychology from the Carlos Albizu University, San Juan Campus, a master’s degree in Business Administration for Executives from the Inter-American University, Metropolitan Campus.
Elliott’s training and experience have led him to work with different organizations, ranging from academic, private, to the government sector. He has also been a member of the Mental Health Committee of the Hospitals Association of Puerto Rico and advisor to the Civil Rights Commission of the Senate of Puerto Rico on Mental Health matters. Furthermore, Elliott has led different crisis intervention teams.
In the academic sector, he has worked as an adjunct faculty of the Carlos Albizu University (CAU) and in the Ponce School of Medicine (PSM) offering courses in Intelligence Measurement, Learning Theories and Motivation and MMPI. In collaboration with the CAU and PSM Internship offices, Elliott led the development of doctoral internship programs in clinical psychology in various hospital and treatment organizations in Puerto Rico.
Elliott is certified in Intermediate and Advanced Psychosomatic Medicine, and as an ISO 31000 Risk Manager.
MARÍA JULIA CRUZ RAMÍREZ
María Julia is a managing partner of Certified Risk Management Group LLC. She has over 25 years of experience related to operations, documentation controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory compliance, training development and project management.
María Julia’s professional experience includes expertise in developing, reviewing, and updating standard operating procedures in the financial industry; directed to ensure work efficacy and organizational efficiency. This includes reviewing operational procedures and performing operational reviews related to regulatory compliance and operational controls.
María Julia has experience as team leader in people management projects related to software and hardware conversion in the financial industry in all its phases; including the planning and setting up of teams, transition implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and change management and/or required actions leading to continuous improvement. Moreover, María Julia has led the development of training programs, including educating and training in addressing risks associated with operations.
Regarding emergency management, María Julia has experience supervising the technical operations, monitoring and performance measurement in CAT response centers; including workload coordination of field surveys by geographical areas and priority; generation of performance daily reports; quality oversight, and completeness and on-time delivery of assignments.
Maria Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. She has a Citizen Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) certification and ISO 3100 Provisional Risk Manager certification.
